Come as you are. The kitchen’s always open.
Whether you're navigating a layoff, figuring out what comes after your degree, or ready for something different; real help from someone who spent a decade on the other side of the hiring table.
As Seen In
Somewhere between "just apply more" and actually figuring out what comes next, that's where we live.
What you’ll find here.
Table for Two 🍽️
Table for Two is a dedicated session with Aura Telman, someone who spent over a decade on the other side of the hiring table, making the decisions most candidates never get to see behind. Now she's fully in your corner.
Bring whatever you're working through: your resume, your LinkedIn, your interview prep, a job offer you're not sure about, or a career pivot you've been sitting on. Leave with clarity, honest feedback, and the kind of insight that only comes from someone who has actually been in the room where hiring decisions get made.
Start with a free 15-minute intro call to see if it's the right fit.
Recipe Box 📂
Inside the box are the parts of a job search people usually work out alone: your story, your resume, your LinkedIn, the automated screen, the gap question, reaching back out to people who already know you, and a plan for the weeks when nothing is happening. What makes them different is where they came from. Not advice off the internet, but what actually worked, from someone who sat on the hiring side and saw who got called back and who got quietly missed.

Choose Well Club Brunch
💚 The Choose Well Club Brunch 💚 is a women's wellness event, co-hosted by me & Anja Simonsen from Choose Well Club. Honest conversations, with a guest expert sitting right at the table and a room full of women asking the same questions you are, all happening over brunch.
Because I am there every time, if you don't know a soul when you walk in, you'll know me. No awkward networking, no wandering the room on your own. You come, you eat, you talk, and somewhere in there it starts feeling like you've found your people.
COMING UP
☕ Choose Well Club Brunch | September 20, 2026
Tix are now live for our next event! During this brunch, we'll explore the autopilot: the yeses you didn't mean, the tension in your shoulders you keep ignoring, the tiredness you can't quite explain. We'll look at how to interrupt it, noticing the physical, emotional and behavioural cues your body and mind send you, slowing down long enough to understand what's actually going on, and responding in a way that reflects what you need rather than what you think you should need.
A note from the Founder.
Hi, I’m Aura. I built The People Kitchen for anyone navigating one of the hardest moments in their professional life, and to make sure they don't have to do it alone. Sending applications into the void, navigating a layoff you didn't see coming, getting ghosted, collecting rejection emails, or feeling trapped in a job that's eating you alive. It’s a lot to carry, and most people are carrying it alone.
I spent over a decade as a Head of People, Culture, and Operations at companies across Canada, the US, and Latin America, sitting on the other side of the table, making hiring decisions, and watching talented people get overlooked. I built The People Kitchen to change that. To use everything I know to make the job search a little less hard and to create a community where you can be real about what's actually going on.
Real support, honest guidance, and a community that actually gets it.
My work has been featured in Nasdaq, BRIT+CO, Create & Cultivate, Thrive Global, Authority Magazine, and DisruptHR. But what matters most to me is that you arrive here and feel like you finally found your people.
Come as you are. The kitchen's always open.
What we stand for.
Inclusion and Belonging · Mental Wellness · Respect
These are our values, and everything here is built around them. The People Kitchen was created because the working world is hard enough without feeling like you don't belong in it. We believe opportunity shouldn't depend on who you know, where you're from, or whether the system was built with you in mind.
And we mean it beyond words. 5% of all profits are donated annually to the Loveland Foundation, providing access to therapy and mental wellness support for Black women and girls, and to the Aboriginal Mother Centre Society in Vancouver, empowering Indigenous women and families through community, culture, and healing.
Because who gets a seat at the table matters far beyond the workplace.
The Dish Newsletter
Every Tuesday, The Dish serves up what's trending in the job market, one honest career tip from the other side of the table, and a real story from someone who's been through it. No fluff. Just the good stuff.
